Looking Into Residential Painting – Quotes in Reno?
I’m planning to get the interior and exterior of my house painted this summer, and I’ve started reaching out for painting quotes in Reno NV. The range of pricing I’m seeing so far is all over the place, and I’m not quite sure what’s considered fair in this market.
Some contractors are quoting per square foot, others are giving flat estimates based on just a quick glance at pictures. I understand there are a lot of factors involved like prep work, paint type, and labor, but I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who’s had painting done recently in the Reno area.
How detailed were the quotes you received? Did the contractors explain what's included—like surface repair, primer, cleanup, etc.? I don’t mind paying a bit more for quality and reliability, but I also want to avoid overpaying for basic work.
Also, if anyone has specific recommendations for painters in Reno who are transparent with pricing and do high-quality work, please let me know. Bonus points if they’re good at communicating and show up on time (we all know how rare that can be with home services sometimes).
Lastly, how important is it to get color consultations? A few companies offered it for free while others charge extra. I’m on the fence about whether it’s worth it or just an upsell.
Would love to hear your experiences and tips. Whether good or bad, all input is welcome. Reno locals, help me paint smart—not just fast.
