Non-Fiction Book Marketing For Beginners
Permalink

I've written a comprehensive guide on urban gardening and sustainability that I'm self-publishing next month. As a first-time author with zero marketing experience, I'm completely lost on where to start with book marketing services. My budget is around $1,000.

My book contains practical advice, step-by-step tutorials, and research-based information for beginners. I believe my potential audience includes apartment dwellers interested in sustainability, gardening enthusiasts, and possibly educational institutions. But I have no idea how to reach them effectively.

I've heard of services like BookBub, but they seem geared toward fiction. Are there equivalent services for non-fiction? Should I focus on getting reviews first? Are Amazon ads effective for practical guides? I'm also wondering if there are book marketing services that could help me get featured in relevant magazines or blogs about sustainability and gardening.

Any guidance on where to start and how to allocate my budget would be incredibly helpful. I'm willing to put in the work—I just need direction!
