Freelance HP Field Support Engineers have to see that there is as much integration level as possible of software products, data, and infrastructure based on business requirements, emerging technologies, and communications systems. They have to develop and assess server performance standards and methods for gauging them.

Field engineers should be good listeners because they have to convey the feedback they receive from the customers to the management. Following that, the organization will adjust its offerings.

To become HP Field Support Engineers, candidates need to have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent along with up to two years’ experience in this field.

If engineers have experience in HP Server/Storage technology, besides knowledge of Cisco UCS, Network+, VMware, VCP, Server+, HP-AIS, etc., they would be preferred. They should have a certification in CCNP or its equivalent.

They should be conversant with Cisco wireless networks, routing and switching, B2 and IPSEC tunnel configuration, Cisco ASA firewalls and VPN devices of clients, and protocols, such as DHCP, WINS, and DNS.
